Welcome to the start of the New EDCForums

Here is the start of the new EDCForums.

What you are seeing is not the finished product but a work in progress. I could not leave the forum down any longer so as soon as a couple of things I am waiting for to happen the forum will come up in an incomplete state. While I am waiting I thought I would work on this front page.

The old forum shut down At 1:06 PM on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. This ended up being a much bigger job than I expected.

As I said this is a work in progress, so where do we go from here? First of all there are some things that were hastily put together that still need some work and I am going to need your help in identifying it. When you start becoming active on the forums it will be helpful if you the members can let me know what is not working right such as permissions. As the common items related to functionality gets fixed I will be working on a few other items.

vBulletin 4 seems to have some differences from the user side of things than previous versions of vBulletin. I will have to start a thread for questions and follow that up with an article to address these frequently asked questions.

The appearance and location of things on the forum will not stay static in the early days of this new forum. As time allows these things will change then when things are how we like them we will lock things down and then we can let things become familiar again.

Don't forget, the forum you see right now is still a work in progress and there is still much to be done.

You guys that come over from CandlePowerForums might notice that the Gadgeteer link is up but there is not one of CPF. That is not a slap at CPF, I can't find the image for the CPF link. When I find it I will put it pack up.
