I am getting bored of hoarding cd's in the somewhat limited storage space in my car to feed the cd player, so I am debating one of the wee transmitters for my mp3 player so I can run the walkman through the radio and give me access to pretty much my entire library on the go...

I know in the past I have heard mixed reviews of some of the different units, so any recommendations or models to look at/avoid?

Ideally I am after something fairly cheap, and that is *not* ipod specific - so will take an output from a 3.5mm jack like my walkman has, not only a dock connecter.

Any ideas?

I'm looking for some type of portable solar panels, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them?
I had originally been looking at the Brunton ones (http://www.brunton.com/catalog2.php?subcat=500) but there are so many other brands thought I would ask for opinions.

I'm wanting something reasonably powerful, something I could at least charge a laptop. I'm not up on technical aspect of the Volt, watt, mA, etc... so bear with my ignorance. My goal is to have something to be able to recharge my HID flashlight, the case has input for charging from a 12V source. I notice that several of the panels can do 12V, but there are differences in the wattage / mA... what should I be looking for?

Hello Folks,

I need your help to get to..White Castle no really, I need to get onto the internet.
My wife's iPod Touch has stopped working on our WiFi. Our laptop connects no problem.
The WiFi icon is fully lit up on her ipod but when launching Safari it just stays at "connecting..." and the little timer wheel keeps going around. :brickwall:

How do I fix this?

I have turned the router and modem off and restarted.

Reset the network on the ipod.

Re-entered all the router/network data on the ipod.

Powered down the ipod and turned it back on after doing a "please work dance".

Does anyone know the secret behind connecting a stubborn touch to the WiFi?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Maybe I should try to return it to BestBuy? :sigh:

My HTC Snap has been sitting in a Blackberry phone case that closes with a magnet, and I've replaced the phone once, and this one is getting problems too. I've never put my phone in a belt clipped case like this, so I'm wondering if this happens to anyone else, or maybe it will only happen to Windows phones due to something being similar to a computer...

I really have no idea how this stuff works, but I'd like to get this resolved. And if anyone has an alternative type of case, please let me know.

Thanks.

Has anyone else seen the Amzer Atomic USB Vehicle Power Charger?

I bought one of them on spec and was impressed enough to have picked up several more. It works in every car socket I have tried, both lighter-type and power-type. It puts out a full 1000mA, so it works with iPhones, Droids, and other high-demand devices. And it is insanely small.

I carry one in a spare coin purse, along with an Apple Ultracompact AC Charger and a small retractable cable so I can always charge my phone or headset. The whole kit will fit in a regular pocket, although mine rides in a cargo pocket along with some other stuff.

Against the grain I am, i've been using windows mobile devices for a LONG time. The HTC Tilt 2 (Touch Pro 2 for non AT&T users i believe)

I buy gear for usefulness and versatility. I found most devices to be lacking for what "I" use mine for, your requirements and usage may vary from mine.

Reasons I have gone with this device up until now:

Huge base of applications that have grown over time

Hybrid GPS ability. Not just relying on cell phone towers for signal but real GPS satelites.

microSD card capability

mini USB data connection/charging capability

tethering capability without hacking the device

no reliance on a centralized app store or repository.

removable/replacable battery

no reliance on software to do basic coordination of content, it can act as a simple sd card reader to transfer things to/from any computer than can use an sd card reader

many various bluetooth "profiles" mean i'm not limited to just earpieces

very inexpensive video adapter to show presentations and video as needed on large screens on the go

real keyboard that folds inside, touchscreen keyboards dont work well for me

I'm sure i could go on but these are most of the things I'm finding superior over many other common phones.

I should also say i found it amusing, we had a very nasty winter this past year, and my wife's iphone got so cold that the screen would not register her touch. My phone on the otherhand worked just fine. I love real buttons!

All in all I like the independance and customizability of the phone, it even has useful tools when you cant get signal. I give this many thumbs up for anyone who is looking for something powerful and found the cult of iphone always leaving something to be desired.

I used to travel a lot for work and this would have been great if I had it then.

I bought a pair of them for both me and my girl since we still both travel quite a bit for car and motorcycle races. It's really cut down on the number of USB power bricks we carry and allows us to run the laptops from the same socket.

And, they're cheap at less than $11.

I just saw this sleeve, and I am curious if anyone has tried one? I have a silicone sleeve for the Nano I have but it has never seemed to fit very well, this one looks like it might stay in place a little better?

Any input would be appreciated!

The sleeve I am referring to:
http://www.otterbox.com/ipod-cases/i...n-impact-case/

I guess while I'm at it I'll also ask does anyone use a screen protector? I had one on my larger iPod when I would take it to work, but since I got a nano, the big one sits at home in a speaker dock, and the Nano mostly just stays in my pocket or pack, I was figuring the above sleeve would protect the face.
