Hi everyone !

As requested, let me introduce you my Extrema Ratio MPC. Yes, I know : it's big.... but it's tough and trustworthy. I have smaller folders, but this is my favorite one.

That was a great movie and probably one of Redford's finest roles. IMHO, the novel was markedly better than the movie. The name of the original author escapes me. I should seek it out and re read it.

Badger-

It's a quote from the movie Jeremiah Johnson. Johnson found Hatchet Jack froze to a tree and it was there that Jeremiah finally had a .50 cal. Hawken gun. This was in the note that Hatchet Jack wrote before he froze.

Here's a further quote:

Del Gue: Ain't that Hatchet Jack's rifle?
Jeremiah Johnson: Yep. Found him froze to a tree.
Del Gue: Damn! He was a wild one, old Hatchet Jack. He was livin' two year in a cave up on the Musselshell with a female panther. She never did get used to him.

It may not be the story you're looking for but that's the story behind it.

Hey Hatchet,

Nice rig.  But I have to say - I love your sig line, I notice it all the time.  What's the background of it, it looks like it has a story.

Mike,

I don't know that there is a group buy for the knife, though EDC.depot's Sharpdogs is carrying it. It's a great little knife.  I use mine everyday.

FYI you can buy just the jeweler's screwdriver on a lot of online sites if you already have a SAK with a corkscrew and just want the mini screwdriver.

Oh, thanks. I didnt know that. I want the climber model so I'll do that, I'll just order the mini screwdriver. Thanks again for the tip.

Thought I would go ahead and post a pic of my new Rick Hinderer Firetac I just picked up. Should be here Fri. Cant Wait!!!! Grin Sorry, pictures got all distorted when I tried to reduce the size shrug

which SAK is that larger one w/ the corkscrew, I've been looking for one with the mini screwdrive but cant find one. Is it a climber model?

Thanks

jryan

It's the Spartan Lite (I replaced the translucent red scales with black ones).  It was about $25 on amazon.

jtice,

Thanks for the additional pics Smiley

I normally don't care for non-folding knives, but had a survival knife (hollow handle sort with compass) when I was young.  I remember (back then) wishing I could get my hands on a real one like that buckmaster.

If I ever do go looking for one again, I think that model would be the one.

Very nice,
Thanks again,

My Buck Strider arrived today losingit

Really nice knife, especially concidering it was only $50.
Lot of knife here for that kinda money, most of it is over built as far as beafiness and thickness goes.
Excited to see how the 440HC steel holds up, if it does, then this is a fantastic knife for $50.
You just better hope you dont mind carrying a big thick beafy brick of knurling.

so, back on topic !!!
