Change thread title -> solved ;o)

Oops! Did I inadvertently give you moderator-only method? My bad. Hard to tell sometimes. There's a way you can change (or there used to be anyway). Let me nose around and see if/how that capability exists for you.

OK, let's try this:

• at bottom of pane, your first post in thread, click EDIT;
• then click OTHER OPTIONS;
• IF resulting screen shows a box with thread title, you can edit there.

Another problem solved. Think I've earned myself a beer. I'm outta here!
