That knife looks great. Did you sand out the scales or is it worn in use?

Its a set of applied weapons tech "bone yard" scales so they were mismatched so I sanded them with about a 400 grit.

My Father's Day gift from my little girl. Juice CS4. (She's only 16 months old so I suspect her incredibly awesome mommy had something to do with it.;))

Original Wave, made in USA. If I remember correct bought in 1999 just before the Y2K bug hit us all and wiped out all computers.

This is my one and only Leatherman. Honestly though, this is my favorite one they make. IMO the full size ones are just too big to carry daily. I do however keep a SOG in my Get Home Bag. The micra has just the right amount of useful daily tools, and nothing more. Oddly enough the micra is also the oldest Leatherman still in production. They obviously got this one right the first time.

I got my first Leatherman today, a Rebar. I have no idea why I waited this long!

I own a couple of SAKs, and I used to own a terrible Coleman Leatherman knock-off, but this is a different beast. I like it. :)

Where can I snag one of these beauties? Or could I just get the scales and do it myself?

The rebar is a great choice, I had one but swapped it out for a surge, really miss the rebar though

What exactly do you miss about it then?

I've never had either of them, I opted for the Swisstool over a Wave 20 years ago, if I were looking to 'upgrade' the Surge & Rebar both look like contenders.

I can't quite put my finger on it, definitely the size and weight. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my surge for one now but I would certainly buy one as a backup. The surge is a massive tool compared to the rebar

Was holidaying in Australia recently and didn't take any tool with me, found a rebar and a style cs at the local pawn shop for next to nothing (well about $40 aud for both)

I guess I could throw this pic up here as well as the forum it was shot for. Almost all my Leatherman tools (a few were AWOL).

There appears to be an empty spot in the upper right corner for one more.
